Charity Car Wash Gleaming Success

Submitted on

Volunteers from Devon Freewheelers have decided to continue with their Charity Car Wash event at their HQ in Honiton.  The third Sunday of every month is the easiest way to programme this into your calendars.

The event shall be taking place at Unit 15 Durham Way, Heathpark Industrial Estate in Honiton from 10am to 3pm.  A minimum donation of £5 per car and £8 for large vans is requested however many people on the day paid over and above.  All of the equipment from sponges to wax has been provided free of charge by neighbouring business Motor Parts Direct of Honiton who are also keen to recruit a relief/temporary driver.  If you know anyone looking for a driving job in Honiton, please ring MPD on 01404 515435 or pop in and see them!

Free refreshments are available while you wait and the fundraising team are also on hand with a display of badges, mugs, pens and more to tempt you to part with even more of your hard earned cash!  Our thanks are extended to Graddon Vending Specialist Services from Lee Mill, who have donated the vending machine to the charity to keep the volunteers hydrated with warm drinks during their night time operations for the community.

Dates for your diary are as follows: Sunday 18th March 2018, Sunday 15th April 2018, Sunday 20th May 2018 and Sunday 20th June 2018.

Special thanks go to Dave Cook, Alex Mitchell, Rodney Strawbridge, Aodan Roe-Lavery, Russell Roe, Caroline Retter, Darren Thomas, John Patrick, Daniel Lavery, Pat and Tom Shaw, Alison McKenzie, Kirsty Lack, and new volunteers Sam Phillips and Tom Nesbit who turned up on the day, signed up and started fundraising; and everyone from the local community who turned up to support the event.  The last event raised £262.00
