Suzanne Tracey, the Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust commends Daniel Lavery, founder of Devon Freewheelers and all the volunteers for ten years of service to the hospital.
The letter (attached) has been shared with all of the volunteers with the personal thanks of Daniel Lavery for all their hard work since 2009.
Dan Says: "We have literally spent over £1,000,000.00 providing our blood bike services to the NHS in Devon and all of it happens very quietly behind the scenes, usually without comment. This is the first time in ten years I've ever had communication from the Chief Executive of RD&E, which some may find hard to believe, but it's true. Every penny we spend comes from public donations and it is our hope that it saves lives and allows vital funds to be directed back into patient care, making a difference to someone, somewhere. This letter says it all, and I am extremely grateful to Suzanne for taking the time to send it."
Following the letter, Dan has since been invited to the RD&E to finally meet Suzanne at the end of May.
