Devon Freewheelers volunteers win Gold!

Submitted on

In our 10th anniversary  year as an operational Blood Bike service,  Devon Freewheelers were extremely proud to be previously announced as finalists in 3 categories at the Outstanding Care Awards Devon & Cornwall 2019. The Outstanding Care Awards awards evening took place at the Riviera Centre in Torquay on Friday June the 28th, and the night was enjoyed by all who attended.

Devon Freewheelers received 3 fantastic awards on the evening; Devon Freewheelers Founder & Chief Executive, Daniel Lavery received the silver award in the Outstanding Contribution to Health and Social Care category. The charity was also awarded a silver award in the NHS Category, and in the Voluntary category  Devon Freewheelers received the Gold award. The awards were accepted on behalf of the Daniel and the charity, by John Conway.

The Gold Award in the Voluntary Sector is a fantastic testament to the dedication and belief of the charities volunteers, in the service that the charity provides free of charge to the NHS across Devon, and beyond as requested. Without our volunteers willingness not only to provide the service, but also to fund raise to keep the service operational, the charity would not be able to continue to provide the service. We really could not do it without them!
